If you’ve ever torn your ACL, you know it’s an incredibly painful experience and that the recovery is long and challenging. Julie Thompson, a postdoctoral fellow at the Boswell Human Performance Lab at Stanford University, specializes in female injuries and has extensively studied ACL problems in women. In this short video, Thompson explains various factors that increase a woman’s risk of hurting her ACL and what female athletes can do to avoid knee injuries altogether.
