To nurture means to care for and encourage the development of someone or something. When I was writing my book, Living with Intent: My Somewhat Messy Journey to Purpose, Peace, and Joy, I identified nurture as one of six steps to living with intent. While we typically associate this idea with helping others, it’s also an important to give yourself the attention and care you need. As we work to grow and improve, it’s important to be gentle with ourselves and let go of guilt and self-criticism that hinders our full potential. Part of nurturing and self-care is being open to support from others. In this meditation on nurturing I would like to open our minds to giving and receiving support. Listen and let any feelings flow naturally without judgment.
