This week our friends at Further Food developed a healthy recipe exclusively for one of our readers. The beautiful smoothie you see here was created for Sonia F., who was looking for a vegan recipe that featured power foods. We brought together superfoods like spirulina, bee pollen, and hemp seeds, to create what we think of as a mean, green power machine!CC_Green Vegan Smoothie-2

Use this recipe to make an easy nutritious breakfast or afternoon snack. Some say that these superfoods can help in preventing cancer and other diseases. The hemp hearts provide pure protein, and the spirulina is packed with the most coveted vitamin for vegans: B12. The lime adds a vitamin c and calcium boost, as do the greens! Get blending, folks.
