“Food is one of the great joys in life,” says Maya Adam, M.D., founder of Just Cook For Kids and professor at Stanford University. Adam is an advocate for a more holistic approach to wellness and nutrition, wherein the “freedom to not fear what we eat” is paramount. In this video, Sonima founder Sonia Jones interviews Adam about the best approach to nutrition for kids. “The single-nutrient solution is never a sustainable one,” says Adam. Instead, we should look to embracing our love of cooking and food in a way that feeds us both physically and mentally. Not only that, but when we model joy around food for our kids, it’s more likely that they’ll take on healthy practices and a more balanced diet when they’re on their own.
