What happens when we say, “Settle in?” Is there a sigh? A collapse?
At the moment of settling in, we often realize how tired we are. The key is to find retreat every day, the internal retreat within us, within our bodies and our breath.
As you sit to find this retreat, feel the force of Apana Vayu, or the downward wind that grounds us into our foundation. Simultaneously feel the blossoming upward through the legs and awakeness in the pelvis. Find strength in your arms that contribute to a sense of lightness in the heart. There’s not collapse and there’s not over-effort. We dance around the plumb lines and balance ourselves between Heaven and Earth.
As you observe the breath, what moves?
How empty is the channel of your body? How deeply can you listen?
